Ethical egg producer the happy egg co., is launching its biggest on-pack offer giving shoppers the chance to win thousands of ‘free range’ prizes over the next eight weeks.
Starring the happy egg co.’s mascot ‘Freda Roam’ – who embarks on a nationwide game of hide and seek – the campaign is designed to raise awareness of the leading free range egg brand’s commitment to producing eggs laid by the very happiest hens.
Backed by digital, social and PR support, the on-pack promotion will launch on the 5th August and will see daily prizes given away online for the next two months, including picnic hampers, Cotswolds Outdoor vouchers and Freda Roam plush toys. The winner of the top prize – a £3,000 ‘glamping’ holiday – will be announced on 1st October.
To be in with a chance of winning any of the prizes, consumers will need to register at www.spotfreda.co.uk. The microsite will be promoted on pack and will feature an advent calendar-style game whereby Freda users have to locate where she’s roamed on an illustrative UK map. Each person can guess her location once a day, and will have a one in 30 chance of winning a prize.
To educate consumers about happy eggs welfare credentials, the microsite will contain real-life footage of happy hens in their natural environment, on the range. As well as plenty of green pasture to roam and forage, all happy egg farms are equipped with an assortment of activities to enhance the birds’ surroundings – from towers to perch on, sandpits for dust-bathing and natural play areas with logs, foliage and cut branches.
Steve Horton, Marketing Director of the happy egg co. said: “The ‘Finding Freda Roam’ promotion offers us the perfect opportunity to attract new shoppers and reward our loyal customers, whilst also demonstrating our commitment to the very highest standards of hen welfare.”
