After seeing strong opportunities to drive growth in Eastern European countries, API Foils Europe has announced that they intend to open a new distribution centre in Warsaw, Poland which will open in early May. The company, which specialises in decorative foil print and packaging solutions, believes the move will allow it to give customers a quicker delivery service on standard product as well as local sales and technical support thereby helping customers to better target new business opportunities.
The investment will see API continuing to work with long standing customers in the region and in addition to providing local sales, marketing and technical support will include storage space for a range of standard foils and specialist finishing machinery to slit product to customer requirements. A lease has now been signed on the 550 sqm site, which has been chosen due to its close proximity to some of the company’s key customers plus Poland’s printing and converting industries. The site is also based close to excellent transport links so that, with stock available of key foil ranges, customers will benefit from a quicker delivery service.
API Folie Polska will be staffed by an experienced, local team managed by Business Development Manager Pawel Lisonek. Will Oldham, MD of API Foils Europe comments; “I believe that in the next few years Poland, the Baltic States and Russia will provide some exciting growth opportunities for our range of innovative, value adding foil solutions. The investment in the new Polish facility not only provides us with the infrastructure to help take advantage of these opportunities but will enable us to improve our customer service and efficiency in the region.”
Oldham became managing director of API Foils Europe in January and, having been based himself for a number of years in Poland, has direct experience of the opportunities this dynamic region offers.
