More to see than ever before at Contrack Pack 2013

The contract packing industry has continued to grow over recent years and CONTRACT PACK mirrors this vibrant mood with more product launches, new packaging services and outsourcing partners than ever before.

Taking place on 27 & 28 February at the NEC Birmingham and supported by the British Contract Manufacturers and Packers Association (BCMPA), the show will open its doors and present the latest outsourcing operations across processing, filling, packing, fulfilment and logistics. Industry sectors represented will include personal care, food, chemicals, pharmaceuticals and medical devices.

Lemonpath (stand H29) will be using the show to launch its new service, designed to offer greater flexibility to companies requiring short to medium runs. Working with most packaging substrates, the service includes one-off mock-ups, or multiple sample production, together with a digital print facility.

In another show first, Blue Frog Packing (stand H36), known for its decorative sleeve steam application process, will be unveiling a new aerosol can decorative steam sleeving process. It will also showcase its bespoke contract packing and project management services.

Silverhook Ltd (stand H28) is debuting two products – Octane Booster and Diesel Particulate Filter Cleaner. Octane Booster will help increase octane levels of petrol by up to 60 points to restore lost power and improve acceleration. Diesel Particulate Filter Cleaner (DPF) is an iron-based organometallic additive, with capabilities to lower the ignition temperature of the soot collected in the filter resulting in the periodic combustion of collected soot.

Techtron Manufacturing (stand J27) will be showcasing its new sachet line capable of liquid and powder filling. The company manufactures, blends and packages liquid based product for retail, industrial, janitorial and speciality chemical markets.

David Shepherd, Commercial Manager at Techtron Manufacturing, added:

“As an exhibitor at CONTRACT PACK for over 4 years the show has provided us with a great opportunity to showcase our business and meet up with both existing and potential new customers. The show attracts sole traders through to multi-nationals all under one roof; we’ve met new customers whom we wouldn’t have otherwise had the opportunity to meet.”

While the details have yet to be unveiled, pharmaceutical contract packer Chester Medical Solutions (stand H31) will be launching two new pieces of machinery, which will take it into another area of packing.

Cannon Packing and Logistics (stand J32) will be demonstrating one of its new bagging machines and Octopus Collation Solutions will be focusing on its latest shrink sleeve service, which includes sleeve wrapping.  This is an ideal option for transporting volume-packed products such as bottles, cans and jars.

With over 20 years of experience, A & S Packing (stand J38) will be showing its wide range of packing solutions. Its capabilities include automatic shrink sleeve application, print registered shrink film application, tray/trayless wrapping, case erection and decanting. Similarly, Design Plus Packaging (stand J33) will be outlining its complete service, from concept creation and design right through to manufacture and delivery of market-ready products.

According to Rodney Steel, Chief Executive of the BCMPA, this level of activity for the upcoming show reflects the wider growth in outsourcing:

“The BCMPA’s CONTRACT PACK feature at the recent easyFairs London show reinforced yet again the extent to which brand owners are keen to outsource all, or part, of their packing and manufacturing operations. Our exhibiting members had a very busy show and we look forward to the NEC in February where we will have over 30 members taking part.”
