Metter-Toledo Product Inspection showcased its excellence in product inspection once again at interpack 2014, presenting a number of advanced weighing and inspection technologies for a variety of industries, including food, pharmaceutical and cosmetics.
A unique series of check-weighers, the Mettler-Toledo Garvens’ C3000 System is designed for the utmost possible degree of reliability and flexibility. It ensures maximum weighing accuracy for high speed production lines, enhancing performance by up to 33 per cent at high throughput rates. While weighing precision was hitherto compromised by production line disturbances and vibrations, the interface-free mounting of the C3000 System’s weigh cell provides a greater level of stability by minimising vibration from machinery in its vicinity.
At the same time, the robust system maximises productivity as it allows for smooth handling of up to 600 products per minute. Its highly adaptable modular design combines an open structure with minimised horizontal surfaces, facilitating any future modifications or upgrades. Moreover, the solid tubular frame offers easy maintenance and cleaning. The C3000 System can be combined with a number of optional product inspection technologies such as metal detection, X-ray or vision inspection, enabling manufacturers to future proof their technology investment for new product lines.
Another highlight at interpack 2014 was Mettler-Toledo Garvens’ XS2 MV TE,a new 4-in-1 combination system to combat pharmaceutical counterfeiting. This advanced system merges four key industry technologies: marking, vision verification, tamper evident sealing and check-weighing. As a result, it offers an unrivalled compact machine footprint, responding to manufacturers’ needs for space-saving combination solutions. The XS2 MV TE comprises a leading inkjet printing system, high-resolution verification cameras, mechanical transfer units, sorting devices and accurate weigh cell technology, and contains a Tamper Evident option supported by sensor verification. Thus, it allows pharmaceutical manufacturers to protect their products against unauthorised access by third parties.
