Leading the way in metal detection and more

Metal Detection Services Limited (MDS), based in Manchester, is the UK agent for CEIA SPA, a world leading producer of Radio Frequency Equipment. The manufacturing facility is based in Arezzo in the Tuscany region of Italy. A wide range of metal detection equipment is manufactured there, including walk through detectors in airports, mine scanning equipment, hand scanners, shoe scanners, liquid scanners, textile scanners, underwater detection equipment, cargo scanners, sonic bath cleaning equipment, RF heat induction equipment, and industrial metal detection equipment. A large percentage of the parts used are manufactured in house. This allows for high quality control standards which lead to industry leading build quality. The production processes are highly automated. This gives repeatability and reliability in performance. All the CEIA detection heads and conveyor systems are manufactured on site and there is a two-year warranty on all industrial metal detectors. The range of industrial metal detection equipment provides a solution for every application. Systems from conveyors, free fall detectors with integrated reject devices, throat detectors, pipeline detectors, and detectors for the mining/quarrying industry. A range of single side detectors are available which are particularly suitable for; textile applications, wound dressing applications, carpet applications, paper applications or any application passing a continuous strip of product over the face of the metal detector. CEIA’s range of pharmaceutical equipment offer incredible sensitivity down to 0.25mm 316 stainless steel.
All equipment can be supplied to meet the various UK supermarket Code of Practice requirements. In fact, the CEIA range of industrial metal detection equipment exceeds all current supermarket Code of Practice requirements.
The flagship of the CEIA range of industrial metal detectors is the MS21 family which use multiple frequencies all at the same time. MDS offers a product testing service, where the company will test a customer’s product on an MS21, to show the improvement in detection which can be achieved over a conventional frequency detector. All the CEIA range of equipment can be monitored and controlled remotely using CEIA’s data acquisition program THS Production+. This can be utilised through WIFI, RS232 or through an Ethernet system. THS Production+ is designed to be fully CFR21 compliant, so it is particularly suitable for pharmaceutical applications. The equipment can also be supplied with a Webserver option.
