Ever since Sir Tim Berners-Lee put up the first web page on August 6th 1991 we have been astounded by the changes in websites. Looking back at some of the great brands of our time they, and we, had no idea of how integral the internet would become in our lives.
Our UK supermarkets were no different in their approach to the world wide web. Their websites were basic and merely tried to offer a presence. This infographic shares with us what those supermarkets looked like, from Asda and and sainsbury’s being the first in 1996 to Tesco not catching up until 4 years later. Morrisons website originally sold cars!
