Pro2Pac 2017, the UK’s only dedicated food and drink packaging event, will deliver big brand inspiration from leading companies and give visitors the opportunity to discover innovative new packaging technology and concepts when it returns to ExCeL, London, in March.
Together with Waste-Works, the only waste and sustainability event dedicated to the food and drink industry, Pro2Pac will run alongside IFE, the UK’s largest and most important food & drink trade event. Between them, the three exhibitions will give visitors a unique 360 degree perspective on the full circle from Farm to Fork to Fertiliser and Fuel.
“At a time when issues such as sustainability, food safety and food waste are all under the spotlight, Pro2Pac and Waste-Works provide a unique forum for visitors to see and experience new products, innovations and solutions – all under one roof!” says Nick Piper, Event Manager.
Featuring 120 exhibitors including global names such as Tetra Pak, Comatec, Adpak Machinery Systems and Ravenwood Packaging, Pro2Pac 2017 has attracted increased international representation with exhibitors so far coming from Turkey, China, Russia, Sweden, Kuwait, Poland and Lithuania. Some 25% of Pro2Pac exhibitors will be new for 2017.
Global packaging manufacturer Coveris (stand N950) will be showcasing its latest label technology – advanced linerless label printing – which was developed for the launch of Aldi’s new high profile steak range. New technology will also take centre stage on the Ravenwood Packaging stand (N1050) where the company’s ‘Raveneers’ will be unveiling a brand new product alongside its range of linerless labels and applicators. Henkelman, the UK & Europe’s No 1 vacuum packer brand, will be on stand N810, while branding and design agency ThreesixtyDesign will be offering free consultation slots on its stand (N750).
Ravenwood’s Managing Director Paul Beamish is extremely excited at the prospect of unveiling the new technology but is understandably enigmatic. “This new product will undoubtedly be taking centre stage on our stand but as you can appreciate, my lips are sealed at this time – all will be revealed on the 20th March.”
Also new for this edition is the Outside the Box stage, where an exciting line-up of industry experts will discuss and debate a wide range of packaging-related and topical business issues over the three day event. Speakers already confirmed include Andrew Jackson, Director of ooh-AR Technologies, who will discuss augmented reality, and Antoinette Devine, an experienced packaging professional who has previously worked with Bacardi, giving a talk entitled ‘Juxtaposition of Waste
and Sustainability in the Luxury
Each of the daily lunchtime debates planned for Outside the Box will focus on a range of hot topics facing the industry. They include an assessment of how the packaging industry will fare post-Brexit, the ‘Storm in a Coffee Cup’ debate chaired by Martin Kersh, Executive Director of the FPA, and a discussion on whether the future of retail packaging lies online rather than instore.
Co-located with IFE, Pro2Pac and Waste-Works will take place at ExCeL London 20 – 22 March 2017. Registration for the events is free online, but will be £25 on the door.
