Benson success at Packaging Innovations

Benson Group, a leading UK producer of printed cartonboard packaging, heralded Packaging Innovations 2014 its most successful version of the show to date. A new stand design, combined with innovative product introductions including food-to-go packaging, with Benson Delilicious; window-packs, with Benson PanoramicTM; and brand protection, with an updated Brand Protection Programme from the Medica Packaging operation, provided significant points of interest for visitors.

Benson Delilicous

The Benson Delilicious collection consists of fourteen brand new pieces of packaging, seven of which are currently being registered by the company as unique designs. Products, all designed in-house, range from the traditional sandwich and wrap packs to the more futuristic product concepts of picnic sharing and ambient snack packs.

“Our design team were inspired by the results of consumer research to create the packaging products of the future. This exciting collection of packaging designs gives “food to go” a whole new look,” said Nikki Clark, Marketing Manager at Benson Group. “Benson Delilicious delivers smart, clever design work that has been integrated with high-quality print and converting techniques to produce a range of sample packs that we hope will get many print buyers thinking creatively.”

Benson Panoramic™

Benson Panoramic combines a clear pack offering a 360-degree view of the contents with card printed via Benson Verso, the company’s reverse printing solution that has been enhanced by the recent Heidelberg perfecting press order. The result is a highly visual packaging solution with huge potential for marketing communications.

Brand Protection Programme

Modern brand protection, whilst beginning with a combination of colour management and brand identity, must also incorporate sophisticated anti-counterfeiting measures as critical components. With a global black market in counterfeit goods estimated to be worth some $545 billion annually, there is a huge value in spending money on as many of these techniques as can be reasonably afforded to protect the consumer and the reputation of the brand. Specialists from Medica Packaging have created the latest updates to the company’s Brand Protection Programme for printed packaging.
